I have been in touch with the Castle Museum in York and they would be very pleased to have us back next Spring Bank Holiday May 29th. I will sort out a Parking Waiver so we can park in The Eye Of York again, it is a great spot for photo's.
My plan for next year is to do the event over THREE DAYS.
If you wish to make your own way Home on Sunday that will be ok.
SATURDAY-- Leave Ace Cafe @ 8.00am, take the A1 to Stibbington Diner for Breakfast,
then through Stamford onto A15 up to Lincoln Dealership (I am going to ask Aire Valley to join us at Lincoln, also anyone from Lincoln/ Sherwood for the ride up to York).
From Lincoln follow the A15( Ermine Street a Roman Road) up to the Humber Bridge, then into Beverley.
From Beverley we will go over the Yorkshire Wolds and on into York, to The Castle Museum.
After a visit to the Dick Turpin Exibition (new this year) we will go to the Hotel.
SUNDAY-- I Would like to do a Ride around the Yorkshire Dales, (I think Aire Valley would like to lead this for us). if you would prefer a Day in York you could perhaps do that instead.
MONDAY-- We will return Home via Robin Hood Country (possibly with a little help from Sherwood Chapter and short ride around Sherwood Forest area).on our way South.
FOR THOSE WHO CAME THIS YEAR 2009
I would like your comments on how we can improve the ride next year
For example- was the Hotel Ok or would you like to be nearer to York
Would you like more time at the Museum
I know this years Ride up to York was a bit boring that is why I have changed it to a more scenic one.
If You Have any comments or suggestions please E Mail - durrick@o2.co.uk
Thanks Derick (Dick Turpin)
PS I Have spoken to the Director of the Lincoln Chapter and he is putting Dick Turpin Ride on their Calendar as a event
