Poker Run

What is it?

Firstly you do not have to be able to play or understand the game of Poker to attend The Poker Runs, (see below for more information) so come and meet the chapter for a social evening over a beer and a bite to eat.

The poker run consists of a visit to up to 7 pubs (1 a month) - location to be chosen by 'The Poker Run' Organizers.

Details of 1st Poker Run on 7th April 2010 is:

The Green Man, Hinton Road, Hurst, Twyford, Berkshire, RG10 0BP www.thegreenman.uk.com and we will be in ‘The Cellar’ Bar

Further dates for 2010 are:
April 7th
May 5th
June 2nd
June 30th
July 28th
September 8th
October 6th

We will keep you informed of the venues as we arrange and these will be added to the website as we have them.

Dates for all 7 runs have been published as above, will be published in the magazine at the beginning of the season and the locations will be notified on the hotline, on the website and in the magazine as soon as they are known.

Those who wish to participate select a card at £1 per pub. If a card is selected that is already in a persons 'hand', that card is replaced and another selected. A record of these cards is kept by the 'Poker Run' Organizers.

At the end of the season those who have attended all 7 pubs will have selected 7 cards. After the seventh pub the 'hands' will be analyzed and the 3 people with the 3 best 5 card poker hands will win a share of the money collected, the split will be 50%, 33% & 17% for 1st 2nd & 3rd places.
Even if you don't attend all 7 meetings it could be possible to win something with only 3 cards - e.g. 3 aces

I hope this all makes sense; come along on the night and all will be very clear!
