Amey's prom night

A Night at the Proms

Back in may this year we put a forum on the Thames valley website to see if anyone would be so kind in helping us escort our daughter (Amey) to her school prom.

Myself and Louise thought that we would not hear from anyone, as we were fairly new members, and not many people would know who we were.

But as time went on, and the word got about and the interest grew and grew. I think it was the mention of a free beer that helped. The forum was a great success and got 53 replies. Also when we went to club night a lot of members were talking about the prom night and offering their help.

Fred and Yvonne came to our house to help plan a safe route that could be used for the ride. Also Don W gave us his knowledge on how to manage a large group. Then we had to work out how we were going to get Amey to the prom Keith offered the use of his trike, but the Prom queen was worried about the dress. Then Richard (webbie) very kindly came forward that he could take Amey in the Merc convertible.

We would like to thank Fred, Yvonne, Don W, Richard for the support in making this day possible for us and Amey.

On the night of the prom we had a fantastic turnout of 16 bikes and 2 trikes plus the car. Louise laid on a spread at our house; I have just finished of the last of the sausage rolls….

Then about 6.30pm we all set of to the school via Windsor Castle making as much noise as Harley possible….
When we got to Dedworth Middle School the jaws dropped and a new Queen of the Prom was crowned, along with the best entrance. The head- teacher of the school told me this was the best entrance he had seen to a prom night. Then we set of the Black Horse pub for a well deserved beer.

Amey had a great night and is still going on about it now! So we would like to thank everyone who came, thank you for time and efforts. Pictures are on the web site, for all to see.
