Cider Rally 2009

Traditionally the Bridgewater Cider Rally marks the start of the HOG Rally season. As one of the longest of the rallies it presents ample opportunities to partake in the traditional rally activities.

Held at the Sand Bay Holiday Park it also offers exceptional value for money.

This year they celebrated their 20th Chapter Birthday so the fancy dress theme was the Roaring 20’s. It was great this time around to have the company of over 20 Thames Valley Chapter members many of whom dressed to kill for the occasion. You do get to see your fellow members in a completely new light at these events!

One of the highlights of the Rally is the Saturday morning Grand Parade into Weston – a logistical nightmare to organise but it culminates in all the bikes displayed on the sea font having been cheered along the route by what would seem the whole of the local population. The town makes us all most welcome and the fish and chips at Winston’s Fish Bar is worth the trip on its own.

Thanks to Don W who led us and Trish and Nig who rode our tail to get us safely down to the rally site. Bridgewater Director Moggy also thanked Thames Valley for coming - must have been the largest attendance from Thames Valley for a long while.
