Causie in the John Radcliffe following an accident

Sadly the spate of accidents involving Chapter HOG members continues ....
Paul Causebrook (Causie) was involved in an accident yesterday (Sun 14th Sept) at around 3pm. He was travelling on Bix Hill dual carriageway approaching Henley and was overtaking a couple of cars. As he did so, one car pulled out AS HE WAS RIDING ALONGSIDE leaving Paul nowhere to go but the central reservation. Paul and bike cartwheeled several times. The Air Ambulance took him to the JR. He has broken his right leg in 2 places - a torsional fracture of the ankle and a break just below the knee - will likely need a metal pin inserted. Also has a couple of cracked ribs. He was riding the V-Rod at the time, which is pretty trashed accoring to Nij Jones. (Paul had asked Nij to recover the bike - but the police refused saying they had impounded it!).
Paul does not currently have a forum login - but I shall of course pass on to him any messages from the Chapter.I believe he is currently in Trauma Ward 2A at the JR and is likely to be so for the next few days. I will update this thread as I get further news.

Get well quickly Causie!

Update on Causie - Monday evening - 15th Sept

I popped in to the JR this evening to visit Paul - he is quite cheerful despite everything. We don't know if they are going to operate tomorrow or later in the week. If anyone would like to visit Causie here are some details:
Currently he is in Trauma Ward 2A, Bed 7B - although this can of course change - best check ahead by calling the ward first on 01865 221134. Car Park 1 is the nearest to the Trauma Unit.

Update on Causie - 22nd Sept

Paul (Causie) eventually had his operation in the JR last Wednesday evening around 9pm - poor guy had been kept waiting around for 2 days plus!....Anyway, apparently the op went well - he now has a steel pin inserted in his right leg beneath the knee and going down to the ankle. He started some physio and I believe he hopes to come home sometime around Tues/Wed (23/24 Sep).
More good news - the police are going to prosecute the car driver who pulled out for careless driving!
