Oxford Chapter Convergence Ride 2009
On the first Sunday of most months through to Sep, the 5 Bisley Chapters are taking it in turns to host a convergence ride ending up at a pre-arranged lunch spot. This is a great way to get to know the folks in our neighbouring Chapters. This month it's Oxford's turn.
Details as follows - Meeting point for the 7th June ride will be same place and time as it was for TV's event i.e. Reading services westbound between junctions 11 and 12 of the M4 at 11.00 for 11.30 departure. There will then follow a gentle meander through the Oxfordshire and Berkshire countryside before arriving at the pub for lunch which will be situated close to our starting point!
We are doing a ride from Wamsad to the services on the M4 - 10:00 meet for a 10:30 off. Road crew TBA.

Join the Oxford chapter for a ride out to the Trindledown Animal centre at Great Shefford.
Meet at Chieveley Services off M4 at 10:00 for a 10:30 depart.
Visit to the rescue centre open day to display the bikes and visit our inmates.
If you can / would like to take some Dog, cat or bird food for the centre it would be very appreciated.
The ride will end up for tea and a sticky bun at the Ridgeway.

We are having the Froxfield annual 'Picnic on the Green on Sat 20th June. All are invited to come and put your bikes on show.
We are also throwing out the challenge for a tug of War - can we get a Thames Valley Hog team together? Let me know please.
Prize is a barrel of real ale from our local brewery. It's a great day we have a Jazz band and beer tent bring your own picnic. Starts at 3.00pm

I am the webmaster for the Birmingham UK Chapter and also responsible for the website for www.theroadkings.co.uk a great Birmingham based Rock & Blues outfit.
These guys are into Harley in a big way and have written an entire Rock & Blues album called Dust & Gasoline around the ethos of riding Harleys and the Harley biking lifestyle. You can get snippets of the music from the forthcoming album on the website and also see their teaser for the forthcoming video, plus they have a full colour advert on the inside front cover of the current issue of HOG Tales. The video to support the album was filmed on location in Spain with the assistance of the Costa Blanca chapter and HOG Tales will be running an editorial covering the filming in the next issue.

Places for the rally are limited and there are only 8 rooms left so book quickly, however there is more space available for camping. The date for this years rally is the 10th to the 12th July 2009 and there will be three ride outs, live music, DJ and full catering and welfare facilities for both hotel guests and campers to ensure you have a enjoyable weekend.

I am not sure who on your committee would be involved in this, but perhaps you could discuss this with the right people, will the HOG be able to help us with the Wheelchair Push again this year?
A pushing team would be great, but if you prefer to do a static display in Reading again it would be good if some of you could come here to the clubhouse first for the start of the Push at 9.30. Really good for the publicity, photos and general atmosphere!

Update - we now have 8 for the course so get your names in NOW if you want and can attend.
It will be held at Princes Risborough Fire station ane will finish at ca 1500.
Sue and Keith have arranged for us to have a training day at Princes Risborough Fire station - the day will be a short classroom session in the morning, followed by a 3 hour training with one instructor between two riders. The normal cost of this is approx £70 per head, but she has got us a very special rate of only £20 for the whole day.
Myself, Sue, maybe Dave, Ray and Kathy (hope Trikes are allowed / welcome) are up for this so we need only a few more. If more than the 12 want to attend we may be able to arrange a second day. Details are :-
Be a Better Biker Rider Assessment Day. Come along to Princes Risborough Fire Station on 22nd August at (9.00a.m - 3.00 p m) and update your riding skills. Short classroom session followed by 3 hours on the road.
