Hello all,
Welcome to the on-line presence of the Thames Valley UK HOG Chapter - www.thamesvalleyhog.org.uk. It lists all the events and activities our Club is involved in, as well as useful information about our club for new and old members alike.
To non-chapter members, welcome! We hope you stay a while, and this site encourages you to become more involved with us.
First step - come to our club nights, where all are welcome. Second step, perhaps try a ride-out with us.
Below the main title are those categories of news-worthy items. For more information regarding the club, browse through our menus on your left, and check out our calendar and events too.
Safe riding and hope to see you soon.
What a great day we had some 17 bikes and a trike left reading along the A33, a short blast down the M3 onto the A303 for a cross country jaunt through Stockbridge, Romsey, Beaulieu, Brockenhurst and New Milton arriving all together (yes including the trike). Thanks to Postie for leading.
After an hour or so we decided to nip along to Mudeford for a beer and ice cream, not to mention a pot of cockles or two. Postie and I changed tail and lead as I knew the way. Thanks to a second man drop off not holding his position some of the riders missed a turning at a roundabout (this person shall remain nameless (shan’t you MARIO), afther a short time the rest of group arrived to join us.
Shortly after three we made tracks with a ride back to home turf (not all together this time sorry about the traffic Keith).
We hope you all had a good day, ride safe see you soon.

Hello all
We are trying a different layout for the news sections so, hopefully, you can see the current items without going on a hunt.
As was two years ago, we were invited, together with the Morgan cars owner group to the Upper Thames Motor Yacht club for a BBQ and swapping of pillion rides on our Harleys for rides in Morgans and, after lunch, a stroll up the river to Caversham lock.
A good turnout of some nine bikes (considering 18 of our chapter were sunning themselves in Wales for the weekend) and including the newly founded Heritage section of TVHOG met on a glorious Saturday morning at WAMSAD. Following the usual briefing, we set off at 10:30 collecting Don W and Andrew, a visiting relative from the Southern Hemisphere on a TVHD loaned Sportster 1200 on the way, ready for a 20 mile gentle stroll through the country lanes via Twyford, Wargrave, Henley and onto Sonning.
Brecon Beacons weekend
I’d just like to thank everyone that joined me on this trip, a really great group of people, it made all my planning worth while with all your positive feedback. I’d also like to give an extra special thank you to John and Barry for their support on the tail great job; I couldn’t have done it without you. As for doing it again next year let me get some rest and get over this one first then I might think about it, Janie and Viji at the Market tafarn have already complemented us as model guests and welcome us back any time so the planning for the next one should be a little easier with the accommodation already sorted.
Great riding, beautiful scenery, marvellous company and fantastic weather.
I had a great time and I thank you all.
Have a look at the photos in the albums.

Hello all - great opportunity to show your bikes off, have a bite to eat or a drink at the George Pub at Holyport Berks.
Bikes needed for display 1:30pm - 04:00pm
See you there
The gathering on a sunny Sunday at WAMSAD saw some 18 bikes arrive at 10:30 for the 11:00 off — following the briefing outlining the buddy system, keeping up with the bike in front whilst still maintaining the 2 second rule for distances between bikes, we all set off over the M4 motorway, down the Drift Road, where cars and horses managed to impede progress down that lovely straight, through Ascot, round Bracknell, down the A322 past Bisley, Worplesdon to Guilford to join the A3 for a short ride to the turnoff for the Guilford dealership down the A3000. The traffic on the A3 was quite heavy and the pack had to merge in as they could with considerable success. It was not easy, well done all and just emphasises the importance of the “buddy” system so the pack can see where to go until we regroup.
As some of you may have heard through the "rumble" vine, Trish unfortunately required that we needed to test our newly trained "first bike on scene road crew" in the forms of Don W, Nij, Phil and Richard A shortly after the Thatchers Arms charity day organised by Phil on Monday finished!
The well oiled drill and training went into action; secure the safety of the injured party; ensure all vital parts working; secure the road both ways and await the arrival of the "blues and twos".
On a serious note, Trish is OK and a broken wrist, a fractured pelvis and two nights in hospital now seems to be the extent of the damage and she will be home later today for some rest and TLC from Nij.
Trish, we all wish you a speedy recovery from your injuries and look forward to seeing you out and about as soon as possible.
